The aesthetic is a mess of bland, generic military colours, and the buildings lack personality. But Battle Islands offers nothing of the sort. Free-to-play games that are fun to play are those that are visually vibrant and dynamic, and those that offer enough humour to give players something to connect with. Doing almost nothing different to the likes of Clash of Clans, the game's all about waiting, waiting, and then spending money so you don't need to wait so much.īilling itself as a "strategy" game, there's almost no strategy involved in Battle Islands.
